AGOC Advisory Unit in London, UK 

Overview

On October 3, 2010, Aramco Gulf Operations Company (AGOC) set up the AGOC  Advisory Unit (AAU) in London, UK to manage the relationship between AGOC and their College Degree Program for Non-Employee (CDPNE) students.  The AAU, headed by Careers Advisor  Majed Al Rashed, liaises with universities and colleges across the UK, to ensure that the CDPNE students are receiving the best that the universities have to offer.  Whilst doing this, the AAU also manages the students to ensure that they are making the most of the opportunities being presented to them by AGOC and for them to take full advantage of the rich experience available while they are studying in the UK.

Mission

To provide a broad range of high-quality academic career counseling services to AGOC overseas students, while ensuring that the students are thoroughly supported in their pursuit of expected academic excellence and delivering high returns on AGOC’s investment.

Roles & Responsibilities

AAU is responsible for the academic administration and evaluation of AGOC scholarship programs to guarantee total compliance with the program’s Ground Rules and ensure meeting management’s high expectations by capitalizing on the investment offered through these programs.

          Coaching, mentoring and counselling overseas students toward achieving success in their academic objectives.

          Monitor student performance, punctuality and assess their academic progress after each term.

          Provide students with the opportunity to acquire a broader range of skills by utilizing their summer break.

          Provide assistance and advice to students regarding the entire Out of Kingdom (OOK) experience, including adjustment to their surroundings and any personal issues that may arise.

          Conduct regular campus visits to meet with participants, professors and school officials as needed. 

          Liaise regularly with AGOC HR regarding scholarship admissions, placements, registration, academic progress and other special concerns. 

          Maintain inventiveness and ingenuity in the services AAU offers, by benchmarking with Aramco Overseas Company (AOC) and other business partners.  

          Continue building strong, long-term business relationships with AGOC program success partners.
